What LEGH Will Not Do

A promise only means something if it’s made before the pressure shows up. These are ours. If we ever have to change one, you’ll hear it on our Updates page first, with the reason.

We will never make you pay

LEGH’s companions, articles, and education are free, and they stay free. If you have something to give, you’re welcome to donate. Nobody is ever required to. We will not add a paid tier, a premium version, or a paywall to anything LEGH offers.

If keeping LEGH free ever becomes more than we can afford, we would rather let LEGH close than start charging the people it was built for.

We will never expose who you are

You don’t need a name, an email, or an account to talk with Oji Echo. We don’t save your name, email address, or IP address with your conversations, so we can’t tell anyone who wrote one. And we will never try to work out who did.

Here is the honest limit. While Oji Echo runs through outside services, we can’t promise that no one outside LEGH could ever see the words you type. We’ve named every party in the path, and what each one does, on our Data Sovereignty Commitment page. Please keep identifying details out of the chat.

We will never sell your words

We never sell them. We never use them for marketing. We never use them to train any AI model.

We will keep LEGH separate from anything built for profit

LEGH is a nonprofit initiative. IKABU Wise Technology LLC, the company behind it, also develops commercial technology. Nothing built for profit will ever be paid for by charging LEGH’s community, selling their information, or using their conversations.

Where we want Oji Echo and Hope Echo to live

We want Oji Echo and Hope Echo to run on hardware LEGH owns, so your words stay in our hands. That takes funding we don’t have yet, and we won’t promise a date we can’t keep.

Here is what we can say today. When funding covers buying and running that hardware, Oji Echo and Hope Echo move home. Until then, we are working to make sure the outside services keep nothing. When either one happens, you’ll read it on our Updates page first.

If a promise changes

We’ll say so here, on the Updates page, and on the Data Sovereignty Commitment page, in plain words, with the reason. We would rather tell you an honest, unfinished truth than a polished promise we couldn’t keep.
